Established in April 2002, Chris McMillan The Salon is the original boutique, luxury California hairdressers, which has and keeps changing the face of the hair salons in the city, from clinical, functional places, into cozy, friendly havens. 
Chris McMillan provides longer appointment times with world class unisex stylists, all within a welcoming high-end atmosphere. Our salon has a complimentary beverage service and a waiting area to sit back and relax whilst our stylists get ready.
Over the last twenty years, our hair stylists have formed an integral part of the music, fashion and beauty industry, creating extensive personal portfolios. You can very often find their photographic hair styling work in magazines like Vogue, Elle, GQ, Rolling Stones, NY Times, LA Times, Cosmo, Billboard… During the season, they can be found working behind the scenes at major fashion shows, for labels including Hermes, Marc Jacobs and CFDA.

Our notable assignments include styling major products and fashion commercials for the likes of Aveno and Smart Water, and music videos for artists such as Bruno Mars and Mark Ronson. We maintain a large celebrity client base within the salon, ranging from current musicians, through to screen and sport icons. However many of clients prefer to remain confidential, allowing them to truly relax and let their hair down whilst in the salon.

Chris has been cutting hair for over three decades. He is the creator of The Rachel—the cut from the TV show Friends that defined the 1990s.

He’s also the mastermind behind the sexy, beachy wavy look that is currently ubiquitous on every red carpet. When Kim Kardashian got engaged, it was Chris she wanted to do her hair for the big day.

When a certain rock star wanted a whole new image to shake the foundation, she called Chris—and Miley Cyrus’ new look was born.
Chris is pure California—he was born in Huntington Beach and never truly left Southern California. In 2002, The Chris McMillan Salon opened in Beverly Hills.

And those signature styles, those sexy, laidback looks that he picked up from a lifetime on the beach—have made him the most celebrated hairstylist in the country and the favorite of celebrities like Jennifer Aniston,
